LITERACY

Provides youth and adults 15 years of age and older, who cannot read or write, to have access to the written word. This skill will contribute to the development of their human potential including their personal, economic, social, and spiritual growth and as such, will guarantee the right of the adult population of Guatemala to an education. Participation in this level of study contributes to the educational vision of this country to reduce, and someday eradicate, illiteracy in the Guatemalan population.

ACCELERATED PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR ADULTS – PEAC

Provides opportunities for youth and adults over 13 years of age who wish to continue and complete their primary education, using a model of "self-instruction" with an education equivalent to that taught in the school system over a two-year period. These students have not been able to complete this level of schooling due to educational problems that exclude them from the conventional school system, their need to work, limited economic resources, and geographical distance from schools. Here they are given the opportunity, free of charge, to complete their primary studies, obtaining a diploma and official certifications issued by the DIGEEX-Ministry of Education.

PEAC Stage I.  Equivalent to Primary Education grades 1 to 4

PEAC Stage II. Equivalent to Primary Education grades 5 to 6

FLEXIBLE MODALITIES

(1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of Basic Education / Secondary Education)

Provides a free program of basic / secondary education over a two-year period, with a focus on development, productivity and entrepreneurship for youth 15 years of age and older and adults who have abandoned or have not had access to the school system.

We are working to fill an urgent need, both for our graduates and others, to complete their Diversified Education studies by offering an opportunity to young men and women aged 18 and over and adults who have not had access to the school system, or who due to socioeconomic circumstances (work, age , family) have been left outside the school system, to complete their studies corresponding to the vocational level and have access to education as entrepreneurs and producers. They are expected to learn a trade or profession that allows them to become economically independent. It also opens the doors for them to continue university studies.
